In Claude.ai with file creation turned on, Claude can generate a .docx in its sandbox. In Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code without a tool, you get text to paste into Word, and Claude can't fill or read a .docx template on your disk.
The DOCX server writes .docx files from sections or markdown, fills {{placeholders}} in your own template, reads existing .docx files, converts .docx to HTML and makes proposals and service agreements.
