McpStamp

Connect to VS Code

How to add an MCP server to VS Code: put it in .vscode/mcp.json and use it in Copilot agent mode. Hosted URL or local npx. Free tier, no account needed.

VS Code

Hosted URL, no install
  1. Create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. The top key is servers, not mcpServers.
  2. Paste the entry below. Replace <token>.
  3. Open the Chat view in Agent mode and start the server from the tools list.

Test status: URL tested with curl. VS Code itself wasn't tested. The live setup page omits "type": "http". This snippet sets it.

Example with the currency server (replace <token>)

{
  "servers": {
    "currency": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.zovo.one/mcp/currency/t/<token>"
    }
  }
}

Swap currency for any server id from the server list.

Then ask for a real file
